Meeting information for the DRUSSA Network
There are several events coming up with which the DRUSSA Networkers are involved or interested.  
There are two notifications of events in West Africa that have to be postponed, and one that is still on track for November. There is also a notification from the premier international research management association the SRA about it's annual conference and workshop, and a notification from SARIMA of a workshop taking place in mid-September.
DRUSSA Universities’ Meeting postponed
Due to various travel bans in parts of West Africa the meeting of DRUSSA universities, scheduled to be held in Accra, Ghana at the end of September 2014 has been postponed.

The arrangements to hold the meeting later this year are underway and will be circulated shortly.  
 CARIMA 2014 Conference Postponed
The annual Central African Research and Innovation Management Association conference has been postponed.

SRA 2014
The 2014  Society of Research Administrators Annual Meeting will be held in San Diego, California, from 18 to 22, October 2014 at the iconic Hotel del Coronado. The early bird registration deadline is 13th September.

As a research administrator, you understand the challenges that research and its management face in today’s rapid changing environment. With the globalization of research and growing international collaborations in medical/biological, physical, social and behavioral or engineering sciences, you need to be aware of the changing research funding environment and the many new opportunities that arise.  We look forward to seeing you in San Diego, where you can network with leaders and peers in research management from over 40 countries.

SARIMA Workshop : Research Performance Management

9-10 Sept 2014, Belmont Square, Cape Town – places still available

This two-day workshop will provide an introduction to research performance management and discuss research performance management in the context of publication outputs, research collaborations/networks and the importance of research visibility. There will be an introduction to bibliometrics and the implications for research managers (e.g. incentivizing research performance etc.) will be highlighted.
Part of the programme will be dedicated to a round table discussion on various aspects of research performance management.
